There's a manor at the edge of the woods that the town has spent years not going near. The sheriff and his wife were murdered there and nobody was ever charged, and the walls have been falling in on that fact ever since.
Now a young journalist writing about the case has vanished, in circumstances that don't hold up to much scrutiny. He'd found a diary shortly before — a killer's diary — and that is probably not unrelated.
Two things to do, in this order: work out what the manor has been keeping, and get to the journalist while getting to him is still possible.
