Classic Solitaire

Not long ago I noticed that every solitaire app on Android comes with some kind of «twist» – unusual card art, all sorts of fancy features, its own scoring table, and so on. That’s all well and good, but for a long time what I was missing was a plain, minimalist «Klondike», one with proper scoring and the familiar classic look.

So I ended up creating yet another incarnation of Klondike solitaire for Android. The game looks and plays exactly like the version everyone knows from Windows. Same scoring system, same graphics. Recommended only for conservatives like me. 🙂

Features:
– tiny footprint (~100KB)
– no gimmicky features, no weird «adapted» card art
– landscape and portrait modes
– draw one or three, timed play, standard scoring, and money play (Vegas scoring)
– double-tap sends a card to the foundations
– cards bounce around when you win
– screen rotation via button or sensor
– supports Android 1.5 and up
– free, no ads!

Planned for future versions (up to 1.0):
– an undo button
– a localised interface
– multiple card backs to choose from
– cumulative scoring in Vegas mode

P.S. There are no plans to add a dozen other solitaire games, a leaderboard website, hi-res cards (there’s simply nowhere to source them from), or support for TVs and Android microwaves. Support for the Nook Touch might happen, though.

P.P.S. Despite the visual similarity, none of the content from Susan Kare’s Windows Solitaire is actually used.
The deck of cards is based on a GPL project by oxymoron: http://www.waste.org/~oxymoron/cards/
The face cards are colored to match the originals. The card backs, the icon, and the other supporting images were all drawn by hand, by me.
